The route

What the experience is like

The Inca Trail 2 days is the way to walk to Machu Picchu if you are short on time: you start at Km 104, climb to Wiñay Wayna, enter through the Sun Gate and sleep in a hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Ideal if you have few days or prefer not to camp. You start at Km 104, climb to Wiñay Wayna and enter Machu Picchu on foot through the Sun Gate, like the Inca pilgrims. You sleep in a hotel and the next day you tour the citadel at an easy pace.

Inca Trail 2 days: who it is for

The short Inca Trail is ideal if you don't want to camp or walk for four days. Inca Trail permits are personal and limited: book early and you will have more date options. If you prefer the full route, see the 4-day Inca Trail.

Wiñay Wayna
