5 days / 4 nights · 74 kmFrom the glaciers of Apu Salkantay to the high jungle, with Machu Picchu as the goal.
The Salkantay Trek 5 days by Condor Trek crosses a 4,650 m pass and descends through coffee farms and tropical forest to Machu Picchu via Llactapata, with no permits that sell out months in advance.
Salkantay is the great alternative to the Inca Trail: it needs no permits months in advance and crosses every ecological zone of the Andes, from turquoise lakes and glaciers to coffee farms and tropical forest. You will reach Machu Picchu along the Inca trail of Llactapata.
This variant passes the Lucmabamba coffee farm, the hot springs and the ruins of Llactapata, with a view of Machu Picchu. It is a demanding route because of the altitude: arrive in Cusco at least two days early and read how to acclimatize in Cusco. Book without paying anything today and we will confirm availability.
